‘WHO HITS 50’ UK 2016

SSE presents THE WHO, one of rock’s legendary and defining bands, as they return to London for a one off show at The SSE Arena, Wembley on February 13th 2016.

The band have released a career-spanning set THE WHO HITS 50 and are undertaking a huge world tour, which has garnered rave reviews. This will be the band’s first UK show since Roger Daltrey’s illness forced the band to postpone their US tour, he’s said of the show ''Who'd have thought that fifty years on from from first playing at Wembley Arena with the Beatles and many of the top groups of that time, The Who would once again play at this legendary venue. It's great to be feeling much better after my illness. I'll be fighting fit by then and I can't wait to get back to work'.

It will be The Who’s first UK gig since their triumphant sold out show in Hyde Park and headlining the Glastonbury Festival to huge critical acclaim;

At The SSE Arena, Wembley the band will take the audience on an ‘Amazing Journey’ through their entire career from the days of THE HIGH NUMBERS to classic albums such as WHO’S NEXT, TOMMY, QUADROPHENIA, MY GENERATION, LIVE AT LEEDS up to the present day.


SSE is offering its customers access to pre-sale tickets from 12th November, with an exclusive 25% off discount when purchased via SSE customers will also have access to additional benefits, including the chance to win a meet-and-greet with the band and attend the soundcheck.

Following a #3 chart position for their critically acclaimed new album ‘What Went Down’ which commanded a Top 20 chart position for four weeks, Foals can now confirm details of their first UK and Ireland arena tour including the band’s biggest headline show to date at The SSE Arena, Wembley:

Tickets for the show at, The SSE Arena, Wembley, will be available from 9am Friday October 9th through & Everything Everything have been confirmed as main support.

Foals’ thrillingly visceral return with the single also titled ‘What Went Down’ earned a flurry of Radio 1 support (Hottest Record in the World, Tune of the Week and Track of the Day) as it accelerated past 2.4 million views at YouTube.

That sense of Foals ascending to new creative peaks was intensified with the reaction that greeted the follow-up single ‘Mountain At My Gates’ and its ground-breaking GoPro interactive video which was directed by Nabil, as well as with ‘A Knife In The Ocean’ which received a World Record premiere on Beats 1 courtesy of Zane Lowe.

‘What Went Down’ is Foals’ fourth album after ‘Antidotes’ (2007, #3), ‘Total Life Forever’ (2010, #8) and ‘Holy Fire’ (2013, #2).

By the close of the year, the band’s critical reception had also continued to soar with a plethora of major honours including Best Live Act at the Q Awards, Best Single for ‘Inhaler’ at the NME Awards and Best Live Act at The Sun Bizarre Awards. As with ‘Total Life Forever’, ‘Holy Fire’ again earned the band a Mercury Prize nomination.

Foals consists of Yannis Philippakis (vocals/guitar), Jimmy Smith (guitar/keys), Walter Gervers (bass), Jack Bevan (drums) and Edwin Congreave (keys)
